Call for Reviewers – SAGSA JournalPosted: February 27, 2014
SAGSA is very happy to announce that we will be starting up a student-run, peer-reviewed journal this year! For now, we will be limiting publications to papers given at this year’s SAGSA Conference, Intersections / Convergences, but we intend to expand the journal’s scope in future years.
As the journal will be peer-reviewed, we are looking for reviewers (this could be you!). Reviewing submissions will give you valuable experience that looks great on a CV and will also help you refine your own writing.
We are looking for a few students with a strong understanding of academic review/critique and a solid knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and syntax. We will be undertaking a double-blind peer-review process. Editors will be provided with a few papers, 3-5, to review for grammar, syntax and clarity of argument; comprehensive review guidelines will be provided to each editor. The time requirements will be minimal. Reviewers will have a week and a half for the process and each paper should only take an hour to an hour and a half to review. Your name will also be included in the final publication as a contributor.
If you are interested please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and include ‘Associate Editor’ in the subject line. In the body of the email please also indicate areas which you feel strongest in reviewing; such as, theory, gender, countries/regions, etc.
